#bossbabesATX Shop Talk with recruitHER: Control Your Career Like A Boss(Babe)
This event is part of #bossbabesATX Shop Talks, a series of workshops taught by different women in the Austin community.
Whether you’re a full-time entrepreneur, working on a side project in addition to your day job, or a creative type with a traditional 9-to-5, it pays to make plans for your career path (even if you later ditch them for a different plan).
On Thursday, August 20 at Friends & Neighbors, recruitHER co-founders Ashley Doyal and Gina Helfrich will discuss the knowledge and know-how you need to control your career like a boss.
The event starts at 6 p.m., so attendees can mingle and shop a special 15% off sale, courtesy of Friends and Neighbors for #bossbabesATX. The shop talk will begin at 7 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m.
The workshop will cover hot topics, such as battling unconscious bias, stereotype threat and impostor syndrome, as well as bread and butter skills like how to navigate your next job search, find and approach mentors, make yourself easier for recruiters to find on LinkedIn, and craft a compelling resume and cover letter. You’ll also learn some clutch strategies for how to negotiate your salary during a job offer, with specific tips on gender differences in successful negotiation styles.
