State of the Uterus Recap: We raised more than $6500!

This last weekend was a wild one. In light of Inauguration Day and the Women's March, we hosted STATE OF THE UTERUS, at Cheer-Up Charlie's a dance party fundraiser for reproductive and menstrual health nonprofits. More than 1,200 people attended to donate, learn more about local orgs and boogie their asses off. Thanks to them, we raised more than $6500 for The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity, Planned Parenthood, Annie's List, the launch of #HappyPeriodAustin and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health.  We also collected more than 50 pounds of tampons and pads for the displaced members of our Austin community. Heck yes!

did you see the "daddy pence come dance" shirt at state of the uterus?

Yes? Well, guess what?! Our really rad Vendors Coordinator, Ashlee Pryor, has decided to make them for errybody. They're now available for sale and 50% of proceeds (all profits) will benefit Equality Texas.

You can order yours for $10 here.

Sizing is unisex. Design is hand-screen-printed and tees are only available in black.

NOw, to reminisce. CHECK OUT THE RECAP VIDEO BELOW:

We've got a lot of thank-yous in order.

First, big shouts to Cheer Up Charlie's for hosting us. Without spaces like CUC, we would not have the capacity to host accessible, affordable fundraising events like STATE OF THE UTERUS.

Second, huge ups to all of our staff and volunteers. We had 12 #bossbabesATX team members and volunteers working on this event! We appreciate your donated time.

Third, thank you to our DJs for also donating their skills and curatorial tastes. Cheers to DJ Lolo, Chulita Vinyl Club and DJ Girlfriend for turning CUC into Studio 54. Never have we ever seen that many people dancing for the right to sexual and reproductive autonomy!

Fourth, we appreciate all of our vendors and speakers. Check 'em all out:
