About the Market: The 23rd Street Artists' Market is Austin's original outdoor artist market, sponsored by the City Of Austin.  The market was voted into existence by the citizens of Austin in 1971 and opened January 1, 1972. It is completely self funded through artists' license fees and is open 7 days a week from 8 am to 10 pm, year round.  Across from the University Of Texas Tower, it's located on 23rd Street at Guadalupe, where thousands of students, tourists, parents and employees walk daily.  Artists keep their own hours, setting up and tearing down as they please.  It's run on the honor system without a site manager.  For license categories and fees, as well as craft and conduct rules please see the 23rd Street Artists’ Market’s Artist Guidebook.
