The Business Operations Intern enables our business to run smoothly by assisting with logistical
tasks such as tracking orders, interfacing with manufacturers, maintaining inventory, and
handling customer service requests. This position is vital to our business and will give an intern
real experience with Magento, ZenDesk, JIRA, and a number of other key software platforms.

Job functions:

  • Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customers complaint; determining the
  • cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem;
  • expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
  • Maintain account housekeeping including ensuring orders flow through to the right
  • manufacturers, are shipped in timely fashions, and are closed out for accounting purposes
  • Provide customers with tracking information and answers to order questions
  • Update storefronts as core products come in and out of stock
  • Maintain base stores for sales in alignment with Product Specialist’s recommendations
  • Be able to update and/or add products to our platform as these needs arise
  • Handle the reordering of stock as inventory is depleted in our warehouses & maintain
  • financial records of cost for the inventory
  • Recommend potential products or services to management by collecting customer
  • information and analyzing customer needs
  • Prepare product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information
  • Manage incoming calls and chats
  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools
  • Handle complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits and
  • follow up to ensure resolution
  • Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents
  • Resolve customer complaints via phone, email, mail or social media
  • Assist with placement of orders, refunds, or exchanges
  • Work with our accounting team to close out the books at the end of each month
  • Act as the company gatekeeper

Requirements:

  • Proven customer support experience
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Familiar with CRM systems and practices
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
