GENthusiast Half Marathon Fundraiser: Girls Empowerment Network


Some amazing GENthusiasts, April Young, Amira Jensen, Caitlin White D'Alton and Clarisa Ramirez, are raising money to provide over 100 hours of after school programming (apx $1800+) for the Girls Empowerment Network by running the Austin Marathon's Half Marathon! GEN's mission is to support and guide girls to make wise choices as they navigate the unique pressures of girlhood. Did you know that only 4% of high school girls nationally are not trying to lose weight, and that 56% of girls in 7th-12th grades have been sexually harassed? GEN helps girls find their power through programs where they learn skills like confident communication, critical thinking, and self care. Each year GEN reaches over 13,000 girls and adults from 18 counties and 60 schools in Texas, and your donation supports their work to help girls make wise choices as they navigate the unique pressures of girlhood.
