Counter Balance: ATX and the Black Graduate Student Association of the University of Texas are providing a space in the capitol of Texas for Women of the African Diaspora to be engaged with each other’s company. We will fellowship, learn, and heal together, to support each other’s dreams and goals to change our communities. The time is now for self-identifying women to have a space in Austin, where we can come together once a year and build. The concept of this summit is to build the bridge between the intersections that exist within the community of self-identifying women of the African Diaspora. We are coming together to discuss the issues between our intersections and work towards plausible solutions. We want to make sure that in these trying times we, as a collective, do not forget what we bring to this world. The Summit will consist of a weekend of events paying homage to women of the African Diaspora. Huston-Tilloston University (HT), the only historically black university in Austin, will host our event on Saturday, March 4, 2017. The summit is completely FREE with lunch INCLUDED. Please click the Eventbrite below to learn more about the panels and discussions.
