OPEN CALL FOR EQUITY IN DESIGN PANEL DISCUSSION/ ART SHOWCASE 2017
#bossbabesATX is producing an Equity in Design Panel discussion on the evening of Wednesday, May 3 at East Side Collective. Curated around the theme “Where Are the Women," this event will explore the lack of female representation and inclusion in the architecture, urban planning and environmental design industries. With only 32% of women in the United States in architecture specifically and even less in other industries, we are seeking to create conversation on inclusion, representation, and the importance of equity in architecture, planning, and environmental design.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
We invite all self-identified women in the architecture field (or those with a sincere and vested interest in this industry) to submit an original piece of pre-existing or new work for display during the panel discussions. Each artist selected to display will receive ample digital coverage from #bossbabesATX and have the opportunity to sell their work onsite.
ELIGIBILITY AND SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Artists are welcome to apply with works in these specific mediums: painting, digital, printmaking, fiber, photography and mixed media. Currently, this call is only open to artists in Austin, TX. All art submitted needs to be no larger than 18” inches by 24” inches and must be wired and ready to hang. All sculpture pieces must come with a stand (if not possible, artists can communicate with #bossbabesATX to come up with solutions).
Photos or links to portfolios/submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 8 PM CST on May 1st, 2017.
