Nov. 5th - Austin Bakes for Haiti
Austin Bakes returns Saturday November 5, from 10:00am - 2:00pm for another city-wide charity bake sale raising funds for disaster relief in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew. All proceeds benefit Doctors without Borders.
Austin Bakes was founded in 2011 by a group of local bloggers, foodies, and food businesses based in and around Austin, Texas, who are raising money for relief efforts and humanitarian aid following local and worldwide disasters. Hundreds of food community volunteers came together for that first bake sale benefiting Japan in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami, and since 2011, the all-volunteer effort has raised nearly $60,000 for natural disaster relief at five citywide bake sales.
Participation in Austin Bakes is open to all. Sign up to volunteer or bake here and donations are being accepted here. November 5 sale locations include Crema Bakery & Cafe, Make it Sweet and Nate’s at Buda Mill & Grain.
