A Girl Named Sue

Color Arc Productions is proud to present the world premiere of a A Girl Named Sue, new play by Vietnamese-American playwright Christine Hoan with songs by award-winning Korean-American singer/songwriter BettySo.

A Girl Named Sue is a story of love and identity told through theatre, music, and poetry. Directed by award-winning Director Karen Jambo, this unexpected love story follows the life Vietnamese-American college student Sue Nguyen played by actress Uyen-Anh Dang. Through Sue’s experiences, we explore relationships between Asian and Black communities in America, friendship and strain between men and women of color, ties between immigrant Americans and first-generation Americans, and love between parent and child.

Christine Hoang chose four songs from BettySoo's body of work to create the story arc for this new play. BettySoo will perform these songs live at all 12 shows of A Girl Named Sue from February 24 - March 12, 2017 at Trinity Street Theatr.
