Mariachi Resistencia

  • Texas Governor's Mansion 1010 Colorado Street Austin, TX, 78701 United States (map)

When SB 4 was placed on the emergency calendar in the 85th Texas Legislature, we participated in our active democracy. We came to testify, made phone calls, and voiced time and time again our opposition and condemnment of SB 4.

SB 4 will NOT make our communities safe and while our governor is perfectly okay with hiding behind closed doors and signing a racist, hateful bill into law, we will not be silent.
Please join for a mariachi serenata outside the governor's mansion in the early hours of Sunday morning. While a serenata (or late night serenade) is usually reserved for loved ones, this one will serve as a loud and adamant reminder that we will not go quietly and we will continue to be a vocal and adamant community against this type of legislation.
If you are a musician, please sign up at the link below. There will be a rehearsal the Saturday before (during the day) and welcome musicians from all across the state. For more information click here.
