Solutions in the Sand: Brief Interventions in Sandtray

  • YWCA Greater Austin 2015 South Interstate 35 Frontage Road Austin, TX, 78741 United States (map)

Sandtray therapy is an effective tool for facilitating insight and healing. Through the use of images and symbols, clients are able to connect with unconscious material which transcends traditional talk therapy. Sandtray is particularly useful for trauma victims who lack the ability to fully express their wounding. In this introductory workshop, Renee Turner, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S will describe the basic tools and materials needed for the sandtray process and methods for ethical engagement in the sandtray process. In addition, she and Tyndal Schreiner will provide participants with at least three brief interventions which can be safely utilized with minimal training. Click here for more information.
