THE SCHEDULE
✰ 11:00 AM — Meet us at The House to settle in. This is a good time to explore The Future Front House, grab a cup of coffee in our neighborhood, meet this month’s pop-ups and introduce yourself to a few people.
✰ 11:30 AM — Community storytime begins! Special guests to be announced soon.
✰ 12:00 PM — Announcements open. If you're there, you can share (capacity limited). You can submit your announcement ahead of time at this link.
✰ 12:30 PM — Announcements close and the rest of your day begins. Feel free to grab lunch in the area, explore neighboring creative spaces and arts studios that are open, etc.

Tickets are $10 minimum donation.
If you’re a Future Front member, this event is free for you and your guests.
If this is your first time at a meet-up, you'll also get one month of membership for free. (The link to claim this will be sent to you after the meet-up.) All proceeds benefit our nonprofit events and programs.

Featured SpeakerS
Mueni Loko Rudd (she/her) is a Kenyan-American community champion, cultural preservationist, scholar advocate, and tastemaker based in Texas. Throughout her career, she has contributed to community and scholarly work that promotes reimagining liberation for historically oppressed communities. Mueni’s curatorial practice acts through intentionality and mindfulness, challenging the white centered colonial patriarchal art space. She has curated six visual arts and live music shows at Martha’s Contemporary, serves as a grant reviewer for the Texas Commission on the Arts, and is a member of The City of Austin African American Resource Advisory Commission. Deeply committed to her values she has pursued a path in the art space that is rooted in intentionality.

Emmet Hunker (they/them) is a comedian, story-teller, and producer. Based in Austin, they are the proud dad and director of the queer art collective, Thee Gay Agenda (circa 2019): www.theegayagenda.com
Michelle Zhang (she/her) is a writer and musician from Austin. She has worked in digital marketing for six years and is currently Future Front’s Community Coordinator. Before Future Front, she worked as the head of marketing & events at BookPeople, the leading independent bookstore in Texas.
She currently runs New & Noteworthy Book Club and is the co-founder of the Austin Texas Book Trail, an Austin-area indie bookstore crawl launching in April 2024. When she's not reading or writing, she's playing violin and keys in local folk emo band People. Make me. Make things!
FEATURED DJ
Houston-native Luya Moreno aka Hierba Malita (they/she) is a queer Latinx multi-disciplinary creative who DJs open-format style with influences ranging from Hip Hop, R&B to Baile Funk, Dembow, Soulful House, Jazzy Spiritual and more. It's about "having fun and sharing the moment with those who resonate with you."
Hierba Malita is the founder of the Latina-led creative collective Flwrpot.Co, where the goal is to build communities and nurture artists' growth, with a heavy emphasis on those who are BIPOC and Queer. Luya is also an art educator for Austin's youth, working with the Mexic-Arte Museum to teach students how to design and screen print their own shirts.YKTV! Vendors from The Front Market’s spring season
Emily Bryn (she/her) was raised in a multigenerational Mexican household in Austin, Texas and has lived here ever since. Being Mexicana, Tejana, and a queer person shapes the entirety of her work, which stretches from oil painting to screen printing and every little thing in between. Though she devotes her time to learning and expanding her creativity in freelance opportunities around the city, she also runs Emsbrynart, LLC full-time. Emily Bryn is the owner of her company where she screen prints playful drawings and slogans about queer and immigration rights onto up-cycled vintage clothing, reallocating a percentage of sales back into her two communities. Being a full-time artist at the age of 23, she can be found at markets around town, in literally any coffee shop trying to refuel herself, or taking a break to read and cool off at Deep Eddy Pool.
Jaymie (she/her) from Kansas, began her journey with art and fashion early on. Encouraged by her busy parents' craft store trips to “keep her occupied”, she pursued Fine Arts and Accessories Design at NYC's FIT.
By 2002, her handbags graced Opening Ceremony's shelves. She later dived into jewelry with her own line, impressing David Yurman who asked her to design his Couture collection for five years. Jaymie's creations, born from her love of problem-solving and experimentation, exude vibrant colors and functional playfulness. Under the brand “Rich Lindzee,” each piece redefines creativity through elevating low brow materials in new unexpected ways.

The Future Front House is located at 1900 E. 12th Street within the historic East 12th Street District.
WHERE TO PARK: The Future Front House has a large paid parking lot across the street and is directly accessible by bus line. There’s also free parking up and down the street and in surrounding neighborhoods. Carpool, if you can!
WHAT TO DO: The Future Front House is located within the historic East 12th Street District, which is home to many other creative spaces and businesses, as well as organizations like Six Square. Explore the District while you’re around.

IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NOTES + GUIDELINES —
All Future Front staff, volunteers and guests will be required to practice mutual respect, as well as demonstrate an alignment with Future Front’s guidelines and values: futurefronttexas.org/values.
All Future Front sessions are currently held online, outdoors or in open-air spaces where quality air flow is possible, ADA compliance is prioritized and assisted mobility devices can be utilized.
All Future Front sessions follow capacity limits to reduce crowding of any kind.
At Future Front events, all guests are expected to follow Austin-local health and safety guidelines for gatherings, as well as practice consideration with the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and any other legal, mind-altering substances.
Tobacco use and electronic smoking device use are not permitted at any time within Future Front properties and event spaces at least 15 ft from entrances, exits, operational windows, or ventilation system intake vents.
Littering of tobacco-related products on the grounds or parking lots is also prohibited.
