Each year, BBATX curates a monthly residency from April to September highlighting the work of 10 to 15, Texas-based women and nonbinary visual and musical artists to create work and perform in our programs. Beyond these seasonal events, resident artists work with the #BBATX team and its collaborators to produce site-specific commissions and exhibitions within our programming, including our series with the Elisabet Ney Museum Meet Her Hands. We also invite the public to learn more about the artists’ process, approach and the sustainability of their practice through various community events, exhibitions and collaborations, while resident artists apply their skills and expertise toward community issues.

This year, join us at The Line Hotel Austin pool deck every first Thursday in April through September to enjoy art and a DJ set, celebrating the work of women artists in #BBATX’s 2019 residency. Dancing, swimsuits (optional) and it’s-almost-the-weekend behavior encouraged. :)

Free and open to the public, every event in The Residency runs from 8 PM to 11 PM on The LINE Austin’s pool deck. The series will conclude with one big finale on September 5, 2019, the opening night of BABES FEST 2019.

About #bossbabesATX: We’re a Texas-based nonprofit that amplifies and connects women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and organizers. We create space to share our crafts, catalyze multi-industry coalitions, promote intersectionality across disciplines, seek guidance and provide each other with practical and emotional resources. Anyone interested in our mission, core values, and initiatives are invited to participate—and learn more about how intersectional gender equality can improve their daily lives. We provide 1500 opportunities to women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and community organizers per year. More than 15,000+ community members also annually attend our showcases, markets and dialogues—and in the last three years, our programs generated an additional $1million for the Austin economy. So, whether you apply to participate in one of our programs, attend our workshops, conferences and dialogues, or come out to a festival or market to support the community we’re building, you’re a member of this movement. All babes, all people, are welcome. :) Learn more at
