BABES FEST returns September 6, 7 and 8 in 2019.

Produced by #BBATX, BABES FEST is an ~ annual convening of minds ~ in Austin, Texas, celebrating and amplifying women and nonbinary artists. As a weekend-long exhibition, our performances, panels, pop-up markets, film screenings and networking hours span music, film, art, creative education and comedy.

• opening reception @ the line hotel •
09.05.19 — 8 to 11 PM

Join us at the LINE Hotel pool deck on September 5 to celebrate the start of BABES FEST 2019 and the close of our 2019 Residency. Featuring a set by Recspec and visuals by illustrator Eileen Wu and abstract photographer Karen Navarro, we’ll settle into this year’s festival with chill vibes by the pool. Swimsuits welcome. Entry to the BF 2019 opening reception is free and open to the public. Subject to capacity with RSVP; BABES FEST ticket-holders receive priority entry.

• day one: the film showcase @ motion media arts center •
09.06.19 — 7 pm to midnight •

Following our opening reception, we’ll return to the Motion Media Arts Center for our third year hosting BABES FEST’s film showcase. Screening work by 20+ women and nonbinary filmmakers, the night’s genres vary from narrative to experimental. Beyond the screenings, the night will serve as a point of discussion: What does it look like to write the stories and create the films we want to see in the world? Come hang. Entry to Day One is included as part of the festival's 3-day pass. Day One passes are $15.

• day two: panels and workshops @ the LINE Hotel •
09.07.19 — 10 am to 5 pm

On BABES FEST Day Two, we’ll gather for a full day of creative programming, panels and workshops. Join us in the morning for a dance workshop and lessons on the turntables led by our resident DJs, then stick around for two dynamic panels, as our artists explore their crafts, careers and creative industry. Entry to Day Two is included as part of the festival's 3-day pass. Day Two daytime passes are $25.

• day two: the craftHER Market pop-up @ location TBA •
09.07.19 — 11 am to 5 pm

Our sister series, craftHER Market, will host a pop-up on Day Two of the fest, exploring contemporary craft. Drop in from 10 AM to 5 PM, whether you have a ticket to the festival or not, to shop work by 12 artists and soak in the festival’s energy. Entry to this craftHER Market pop-up is open to all BABES FEST ticket-holders.

• day two: the night show @ the north door •
09.07.19 — 8 pm to 2 am

Featuring 8 acts spanning multiple genres and headlined by electrofeminist producer Madame Gandhi, BABES FEST's music showcase will serve as a pinnacle of the festival’s 2019 theme: flow. Come through. Discover new musicians. And let loose. Together, we’ll put on the artists we care about. Entry to Day Two’s nighttime events is included as part of the festival's 3-day pass. Day Two nighttime passes are $15.

• day three: the hang @ the #BBATX HQ •
09.08.19 — 11 AM to 2 pm

As we close out the weekend, we’ll gather at the #BBATX Headquarters for goodbyes and a reflection on the fest. We’ll also brunch over complimentary tacos and Tito’s cocktails, while enjoying ambient performances. Entry to Day Three is only included as part of the festival's 3-day pass.

• day three: Cyberbabes: A Femme and Queer Showcase @ Cheer Up Charlies •
09.08.19 — 6:00 PM to 1:30 AM


As we close out the weekend, we’ll gather at the #BBATX Presented by #bbatx, Y2K Technologies and p1nkstar, Inc., CYBERBABES is a one-night music and art festival amplifying the work of femme and queer musicians, DJs, performance and visual artists. Returning for THE SECOND TIME EVER as the official after-party of BABES FEST 2019, CYBERBABES will be back at Cheer Up Charlies on Sunday, September 8, 2019 with a dynamic, future-forward showcase featuring 17 acts from across Texas and the USA. Entry to CYBERBABES is free for all BABES FEST ticket-holders (one-day passes and three-day passes). Without a pass, the show is $5 with RSVP or at the door. BABES FEST is an ~ annual convening of minds ~ in Austin, Texas, celebrating and amplifying women and nonbinary artists. About #bossbabesATX: We’re a Texas-based nonprofit that amplifies and connects women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and organizers. We create space to share our crafts, catalyze multi-industry coalitions, promote intersectionality across disciplines, seek guidance and provide each other with practical and emotional resources. Anyone interested in our mission, core values, and initiatives are invited to participate—and learn more about how intersectional gender equality can improve their daily lives. We provide 1500 opportunities to women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and community organizers per year.
